Two Boys Changing The World

                                              Andrew Warkentin & Mattias Ekkert

Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada.
Nearly 40% of all cancer deaths in Canada are due to lung and colorectal cancer.
In 2012 , an estimated 186,400 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in Canada. 75,700 deaths will occur.
Overall cancer mortality rates are declining in Canada.

Meet Andrew and Mattias. Two young college men, wanting to make a difference. So they joined the ride to conquer cancer. A ride from Vancouver to Seattle happening Fathers Day weekend in June.
They are riding to help those that are affected by cancer and those that might be facing it one day. They are riding because their lives have been touched by someone they love who has had cancer. They are not looking for fame or to make a profit for themselves , but to touch others lives. They touched mine.
Yesterday's barbecue fundraiser included door to door sales, and an amazing raffle. They made over 100 homemade burgers, set up a tent  ,chairs, volleyball net. Decorated the area with balloons and signs setting up different stations to donate for the cause. They did all this with smiles on their faces and a servants heart. And they did a stellar job. Thanks to all of you who took the time and opened your wallets to support the ride to conquer cancer. You made a believer out of me. We are in this journey together . Thank you boys for taking the challenge to make a difference in the world. And thank you for all of you who donated time and prizes may you be blessed immeasurably more than you can ever imagine.

You Never let GO

Even though I walk through the valley
Of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I'm caught in the middle
Of the storms of this life
I won't turn back I know you are near
Oh no , You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In ever high and every low
Oh, no you never let go
Lord, you never let go of me.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

Went to a funeral yesterday. I know they are happening everyday, everywhere. It's a sobering thought. Anytime my life could be over. Or someone I love goes to heaven. It's happened in the generations before me and will continue long after I'm gone. I need not fear death I know where I am going. Never the less the pain on earth of those left behind lingers on long after the funeral. Long after the prayers die down and people forget what happened ,the struggles remain. The same, yesterday , today and tomorrow. Lord you never let go of me.

Thankful for saints that go to heaven and their testimony that encourages me to keep going , fight the good fight, finish the race well, be generous to others, be part of the world and it's suffering, work hard and play hard, intentionally strive to seek Jesus and demonstrate a life after Gods heart, give up control of my life , and leave a good legacy behind.

What will I be remembered for?

This Is My Father's World

 This is my Father's world
And to my listening ears
All nature sings
And round me rings
The music of the spheres
 This is my Father's world
The birds their carols raise
The morning light
The lilly white
Declare their master's praise
 This is my Father's world
I rest me in the thought
Of rock's and trees
of skies and seas
His hand the wonders wrought
 This is my Father's world
Oh, let me never forget
That though the wrong
seems oft so strong
God is the ruler yet
 This is my Father's world
Why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King
Let the heavens ring
God reigns ,let the earth be glad
This is my Father's world
He shines in all thats fair
In the rustling grass
I hear Him Pass
He speaks to me everywhere.

Thankful for Tulips
A love of flowers passed down from my parents
Worship at the Chris Tomlin concert
Friends who give and share their weekends with me
Mars Hill and a message I needed to hear
Sunshine and walking legs
Burdens shared and carried by others

Grace

Grace Greater Than All Our Sin Lyrics:

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Refrain

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can we do to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Thankful for sunshine
Feet that can walk
Holiday Plans
God's grace always

Ordinary Sunday?

I knew it couldn't be an ordinary Sunday. It's never an ordinary Sunday when my heart is open to God. As soon as I walked into the entrance I saw the signs. Yup world vision kid's. So many , so much poverty so much potential so much rests on me to help. These kids all children of God whose lives would be different born in another place. Rob Penner was the guest speaker. Oh the miracles he shared oh the challenge he put forward. But I really didn't need it I already knew what I had to do. The question how many Lord? Is it ever enough? Is it ever enough to stop giving when there is a need? And the picture became clear in the sanctuary. And I followed the call.
