Lest We Forget
But you, Lord protect me
You bring me Honor;
you give me hope .Psalm 3
read by one of the Chaplains at the Remembrance Day Service
@NSVCC
and O Canada was sung
and O God Our Help In Ages Past
and God save the Queen
and there was moments of reflection
moments of encouragement /moments of saddness
"For as much as these comrades do not answer, may their names live on forevermore"
acts of remembrance
words of wisdom
"We gave today so that you could have tomorrow"
You may have your thoughts about war
that are very different from mine
you might have lost someone in the war
or only heard about it from someone else
and on this day I ask you
did you take a moment on the 11 month on the 11th day at the 11th hour to pause....
and thank God for the freedom you enjoy?
for the risk someone else gave of himself for you?
for the freedom to remember?
Did your heart swell with emotion?
Did it bleed for other war torn countries?
Did you take a moment of silence?
Lest I forget
to remember
to pray
to instruct the next generation
to be thankful
we may have opposing views
lest we forget
O God , our help in ages past
our hope for years to come
be thou our guide while troubles last
and our eternal home.
